The good news is that a HII is out of play. The bad news is that Tina is still here, gracing us all with her presence.
It's funny though, I've been thinking, as miserable as it is living with her, Tina's not even my next logical target.
Chase and Jonah, their backs are up against a wall just as much as Tina's is... possibly even more so.
Given the numbers game we're ultimately playing here, their next best move is not to go to five on this tribe with Colleen, Dominic and me; quite the contrary... those boys need one of us gone and a perceivably big target like Tina still in the mix.
And what's the best way for them to do that and still save face with us? By passing Tina another HII if they have one. In that scenario, one of our threesome leaves, Tina does the dirty work and the two of them both come out smelling like a rose.
It might sound far fetched but all I'm really doing is applying basic Game Theory to our situation.
I've learned that if you always expect the worst possible outcome in any scenario that you can usually take the necessary steps to circumvent its consequences.
I give Chase and Jonah the benefit of the doubt that they're going try and do what's in their best interest and then I plan around it and make sure that what actually happens is in my best interest instead.
And at the end of the day, that has always involved Jonah being the next one to go, not Tina.
It's really the perfect time to get rid of him when you think about it, because he absolutely doesn't expect to be in danger yet. Jonah thinks he has Dominic wrapped around his finger and that's given him a false sense security, at least for the time being.
When I first proposed this move to Dominic, he was naturally hesitant about the idea, very much preferring that we target Chase first instead, but ultimately he didn't need too much convincing to be swayed. Jonah feels the safest, in the moment at least, and we have to strike while the iron is hot. After all, in the end, it's us or them. I think Dominic understands that now.
And the truth is, I need Chase around for my own reasons, because I'm closer with him than I am with Jonah, and you never know when you might need a trump card down the line.
So the current plan is for Colleen, Dominic and me to continue playing our parts in the campaign to get Tina voted out, but in reality we're all going to be writing down Jonah's name at Judgment.
It's ruthless, but it beats the alternative of leaving ourselves fully exposed and ripe for a knife to the back.
